Reducing diarrhea rate by adding potassium diformate to new corn as pig feed

Use plan of new corn for pig feed

Recently, new corn has been listed one after another, and most feed factories have started to purchase and store it. How should new corn be used in pig feed?

As we all know, pig feed has two important evaluation indicators: one is palatability and feed intake; One is the diarrhea rate. Other indicators are relatively low in importance.

Advantages of new corn:

1. The price is lower than that of old corn last year, with cost advantage;

2. At the stage of delisting old corn and listing new corn, it is increasingly difficult to purchase old corn. New corn has procurement advantages;

3. New corn has high water content, sweet taste and good palatability. It has palatability advantages.

Disadvantages of new corn:

It is not yet fully mature and needs post ripening (1-2 months), with low digestibility and high diarrhea rate.

It can be seen that the use of new corn has both advantages and disadvantages. Then, when using it, we should give full play to its advantages and reduce its disadvantages as much as possible:

1. The new corn can be used in the next 10 days or so, but the addition ratio needs a transition time (about one month). The transition ratio of new corn to old corn is suggested as follows: new corn=2:8-4:6-7:3.

2. Add enzyme preparation properly to improve the digestibility of new corn, and add potassium diformate appropriately to reduce the diarrhea rate.
